Apply for housing benefits with your electronic certificate.

*Equity loans are intended to aid first time buyers who are below a certain income possibility curve in order to enable them to bridge the equity gap when buying real estate property.

Depending on their socioeconomic status, individuals may be entitled to additional housing benefits ("Sérstakur húsnæðisstuðningur") from the municipality. An electronic application can submitted via Þjónustugátt on www.akureyri.is

Tenants' support 

The Icelandic Consumers' Association operates a Tenants' Support under a service level agreement with the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The Tenants' Support provides information, assistance, and advice to tenants on rent-related matters, free of charge, and their legal team answers questions and provides guidance when tenants need to seek their rights.
