W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland is accompanying Slagtog Feminist Self-defense around Iceland to reach out to women of foreign origin.
W.O.M.E.N. invites women of foreign origin, and all women interested in supporting them, for an evening of discussion and exchange in Akureyri.
W.O.M.E.N. is a non-profit organisation created in 2003 by women of foreign origin in Iceland, to support other women of foreign origin in Iceland. The organisation has particularly focused on employment and social issues, education and gender based violence.
Come learn about our activities, how we organise and support each other, and share your perspective with us!
There will be a short presentation of the organisation's activities by a board member, followed by an informal exchange with participants about the status of women of foreign origin in Iceland in general, and in Akureyri in particular, our specific challenges, our solutions and networks. Let's empower each other!
All women of foreign origin are welcome, as well as all women interested in supporting them.
The event is held in collaboration with Slagtog Feminist Self-Defence workshop to be held on the 26th and 27th of October.
