Dear patrons and foodlovers! Even though the library itself will be closed on First Day of Summer, a feast will be held this day (25th of April, First Day of Summer) in the form of International Kitchen, with food from 18 countries!!
The Multicultural Council of Akureyri offers a taste from various countries at the Municipal Library of Akureyri on Thursday, April 25th, First day of summer from 1pm to 3pm! People of different cultural backgrounds will present the national dishes they grew up with. The goal of the event is to promote diverse cultural heritage and strengthen ties between all residents of the town. This is the seventh time the International Kitchen is held in Akureyri.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The event is made possible by the support of The Municipal Library of Akureyri, Municipality of Akureyri, Norðurorka, and Papco.

The event is part of Week 17, the international week of the Sustainable Development Goals in libraries. During the week the library will offer various events related to the SDGs.
We encourage you to attend the event in an environmentally friendly manner. Akureyri bus system is free, and all buses stop in the city centre 300 meters from the library.
