Inter-library loans

We offer to provide material from other libraries if it is not available here at the Municipal Library of Akureyri.

Everyone that has a valid library card here can use this service.

You can order inter-library loans straight from the website amt.leitir.is or by sending email to millisafnalan@akureyri.is

In most cases works from domestic libraries arrive in two to five days but the waiting period is longer for books coming from abroad.
Every copy that comes domestically costs 2.000 ISK but 3.000 ISK if it is from abroad.

Inter-library loans are paid when they are picked up.

Most common loan period from domestic libraries is 4 weeks. In some cases one can extend the loan period but a request about that has to be sent to the inter-library loans staff before the loan period is finished.
