Green steps - 1st step complete!

Dear patrons and well-wishers! The Municipal Library of Akureyri and The District Archives in Akureyri received today a recognition for reaching the first step of five in the program Green Steps. The association of municipalities of Northeast Iceland (SSNE) are heading the project and Kristín Helga Schiöth and Sigurborg Ósk Haraldsdóttir gave to the employees of the museums a recognition for this step (see picture to the side and a bigger version below).

Green Steps reduce negative environmental effects of institutions and increase the environmental awareness of their employees. Among the things the program reaches into are purchases, communication, sorting and event management.

We are very proud of this success and head straight towards the next step!
