David's house: Applications for staying in author- and scholar-apartment

Dear authors and scholars!

Applications for staying in the author- and scholar-apartment in David's house will be done in the same way as previous years.

On August 1st a new application-period for the almanac year of 2025 starts and ends on the 31st of the same month (application period = whole August). After that applications will be evaluated and applicants will know if their applications have been approved or not. If there are empty slots after this period it is enough to send the caretaker an email. Applicants are encouraged to do a really god job on their application and provide information about themselves and their works they intend to work on while staying. Better prepared and worded applications increase chances of allocation. It is also recommended that you ask for an extra period in the application if the main one is not available. The author- and scholar-apartment is rented for a week and week, a month at the most. Note that we only rent out whole months. The rent for one week is 30.000 ISK and 90.000 ISK for one month. Everything you need is in the apartment: linen, towels, wi-fi and more. It is expected that applicants return the apartment back in the same shape and form when the stay is over (location of furniture and cleanliness).

Applications should be sent to thordurs@amtsbok.is. If applicants want to send extra documents/attachments to increase chances of allocation, that is very fine of course and even recommended.
