The Arctic Circle is a line close to the 66,5° parallels in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. It marks the approximate area in which the sun never rises in winter and never sets in summer for 24 hours or longer. It's where one can see the midnight sun.

Norlandair offers scheduled flight to Grímsey from Akureyri, all year. The flight takes aprox 20 minutes.

The ferry Sæfari has a schedule between Dalvík and Grímsey all year. The tour takes 3 hours each way and the capacity of the ferry is 108 passengers, in addition to cars and cargo. During wintertime the ferry has three to four departures a week but during summer it has five departures a week.

Arctic Trip was founded in 2015 by Halla Ingolfsdottir, a highly experienced guide with over 20 years of experience in guiding travelers around North Iceland, in Eyjafjordur and in particular in Grímsey where she has spent most of her days.

Several options are for travels between Akureyri and Reykjavík and other places within North Iceland. Flights, buses, ferries and taxis to mention the most common.

The guesthouse is in a building called Sólbergi, above the small gift shop and Iceland’s smallest café.

The store is in the house "Sólberg" in the center of the village of Grímsey, overlooking the harbor area. Open on ferry days during summertime, while the ferry is docked.
