Shown at the Municipal Library of Akureyri on February 28th, 5 pm. - The French award-winning director Michel Ocelot (who made the Kirikou films) directs here a marvellous animated film for children where three stories in three different times in the world history are told in an impressive way.
During the times of Ancient Egypt a young king becomes the first black pharaoh that deserves his loved one's hand. During the French Middle Ages a mysterious and wild boy steals from the rich to give to the poor. Swee pastry prince and rose princess escape the palace in the 18th century in Turkey to be able to live in love.
The film is shown with French audio and Icelandic subtitles.
The French Film Festival in Akureyri is held in February every year with movie showings in selected places. Note that there is no entrance fee to the festival's showings. Showings in Sambioin require people to apply for tickets but for other showings it is enough to just be there.
