Scheduled flight from Akureyri: Norlandair

Norlandair offers scheduled flight to Grímsey from Akureyri, all year.  Two times a week during summer (June through August) and three times a week during the rest of the year.

During the stop in Grímsey one can have a guided walking tour with a local guide, visit the small village and other interesting sights on the island and during the bird season also watch the rich birdlife.

All passengers flying with Norlandair to Grímsey receive a diploma stating that they have crossed the Arctic Circle included in the tour. Other guest can buy a diploma in the island small gift shop "Gallerí Sól", for opening hours. Flight time is 30 minutes and length of stop, depending on days and season, is 20 min. to 2 hrs.

Note that the scheduled flight can be combined with an overnight stay - which is highly recommended. The flight can also be combined with a ferry (with departures and/or arrivals from the town of Dalvík) such lengthening the duration of the stay in Grímsey.

The flight is from the Akureyri Airport which is in about 5 minutes drive from Akureyri town center. Check-inn is 30 min before departure from Akureyri and 15 min before departure from Grímsey Airport.
