Flights depart from Akureyri Airport, which is about a 5-minute drive from downtown Akureyri. Check-in is 30 minutes before departure from Akureyri and 15 minutes before departure from Grímsey.

While the plane is stopped in Grímsey, it's an ideal time to take a walk, visit the village, or explore other notable sites on the island.
